August 4 – 10 is National Exercise with Your Child Week. According to Family Doctor.org children who are involved in 60 minutes of activity per day experience reduced levels of stress, sleep better and exhibit better mental health.
As part of our Centennial Celebration, Brentwood Parks & Recreation will have activities all week (6 – 7 p.m. Monday – Wednesday; 7 – 10 p.m. on Friday) to help you exercise with your child.
- Monday at Oak Tree Park: Join us at Oak Tree Park as we focus on individual exercises and show ways to use the playground to stay healthy as a family.
- Tuesday at Memorial Park & Oak Tree Park: Tuesday we focus on Heart & Cardiovascular Health as we encourage everyone to walk or bike from Memorial Park to Oak Tree Park.
- Wednesday at Brentwood Park: It’s field Day at Brentwood Park. Enjoy Field Day type games that will keep your kids moving.
- Thursday at Memorial Park (6:30-7:30pm): Thursday, we focus muscle strength, flexibility as well as improved energy as we have Yoga in the Park.
- Friday at the Brentwood Recreation Complex: Wrap up the week with free ice skating at the Brentwood Recreation Complex!
