CERT Program

Community Action Response Team (CERT) training promotes a partnering effort between emergency services and the people they serve. The goal is for emergency personnel to train members of the Brentwood community in basic response skills. Trained CERT members may assist in the event of an emergency.

If a disaster overwhelms our public safety departments, CERT members can assist by applying the basic response and organizational skills they have learned during training. These skills can help save and sustain lives following a disaster until help arrives. CERT skills also apply to daily emergencies.

CERT training is designed to cover: Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety, Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue, Team Organization, Disaster Psychology, and Terrorism and CERT. The CERT course consists of 20 hours class time with a final exercise. Training is scheduled as needed.
