MSD Project Clear Update – February 14, 2018

Work anticipated in the next three weeks on Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s Project Clear in Brentwood:

  • Sewer pipe installation will continue along Russell Avenue between Hilldale and Manderly. Asphalt pavement will be placed at the intersection of Russell and Collier, to replace the temporary aggregate surface, when weather is warm enough for plants that produce asphalt materials to reopen. Russell will be closed between Hilldale and Manderly for approximately eight weeks for pipe installation. Periodic blasting may occur to aid in the removal of rock for installation of the sewer pipe.
  • Restoration work in Brentwood Park is scheduled to be complete in late February.  The soccer field in the west end of the park is currently closed.
  • A cast-in-place concrete structure is being constructed on Russell Avenue near the entrance to Brentwood Park. Construction is anticipated to be complete in February, and the road will be temporarily repaved to accept traffic.
  • The repair of asphalt pavement on Mary Avenue and Suburban Tracks will resume if temperatures above 40 degrees F occur for long enough periods to install the asphalt material.
  • Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel Black Creek site (South of Midwest Flooring): Installation of sheet pile to support the excavation for a shaft to the tunnel will begin in mid-February.
