BRENTWOOD FIRE AND POLICE

 CERT PROGRAM

CERT training promotes a partnering effort between emergency services and the people they serve.  The goal is for emergenc personnel to train members of the Brentwood community in basic response skills.  CERT members are then used to assist in the event of an emergency.

If a disaster overwhelms our public safety departments, CERT members can assist by applying the basic response and organizational skills they have learned during training.  These skills can help save and sustain lives following a disaster until help arrives.  CERT skills also apply to daily emergencies.

CERT training is designed to cover the following: Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety, Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue, Team Organization, Disaster Psychology, and Terrorism and CERT. The CERT course consists of 20 hours class time with a final exercise which ties all the training together.  Training will be provided by the Brentwood Fire and Police Departments.  (Training schedule will be announced at a later date.)

If you are interested in participating in the CERT training and becoming a CERT volunteer, please fill out an  application form and return to:
