[ARCHIVED] Brentwood Bound Construction Update – March 5, 2020

Brentwood Bound Construction Update

Construction work anticipated in the next few weeks on the Brentwood Bound Plan:

  • Spirtas Wrecking completed all the demolition work associated with 2748 Mary Avenue, 2940 Mary Avenue and 8302/8304 Manchester Road. The building pads at these properties are backfilled with a granular material in preparation for the Phase I Flood Mitigation Project that is scheduled to start later this year. The installation of this granular material will provide a low maintenance requirement for City to maintain until construction starts and will also provide a staging area for the Phase I contractor during construction, which will reduce the overall cost to the City on that contract.
  • Davey Tree completed the early tree clearing that was required by the Corps of Engineers. To reduce cost to the City, some of these trees were only dropped in place, where they did not impact the public, and will be removed by the Flood Mitigation Phase I contractor this summer.
  • No other construction work is scheduled until the next demolition project is awarded in June 2020.
