Work anticipated in the next three weeks on Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s Project Clear in Brentwood:
- Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel – The contractor will no longer use the site at the corner of Brazeau and Suburban Tracks to deliver concrete to the tunnel for the final lining of the tunnel. No work is anticipated at this site for the next few weeks. However, the contractor will return to this site later this year to construct the channel and dropshaft that connects the previously installed sewer line to the tunnel.
- Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel – The contractor is currently installing the fiberglass sewer pipe in the tunnel. Pipe is being stored on the former Midwest Floor site, within a temporarily fenced area, prior to installation. The pipe installation should be completed in the next two weeks. A grout batch plant will be set up at the site to produce the cellular grout used to fill the space between the outside of the pipe and the excavated surface of the tunnel. The contractor also will install the sheet pile excavation support system for the Diversion Structure at this site over the next few weeks.
