[ARCHIVED] MSD Project Clear Update – October 22, 2020

MSD Project Clear Update

Work anticipated in the next three weeks on Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s Project Clear in Brentwood:

  • Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel – The contractor will no longer use the site at the corner of Brazeau and Suburban Tracks to deliver concrete to the tunnel for the final lining of the tunnel. No work is anticipated at this site for the next few weeks. However, the contractor will return to this site in November to construct the channel and dropshaft that connect the previously installed sewer line to the tunnel.
  • Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel – The contractor has completed installing the fiberglass sewer pipe in the tunnel. A grout batch plant is being set up at the site in October to produce the cellular grout used to fill the space between the outside of the pipe and the excavated surface of the tunnel. The contractor has begun installing the sheet pile excavation support system for the Diversion Structure. The sheet pile installation will continue through October, then the Contractor will begin excavating within the sheet pile support system to construct the Diversion Structure.
