Work anticipated in the next three weeks on Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s Project Clear in Brentwood:
- Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel – The contractor will no longer use the site at the corner of Brazeau and Suburban Tracks to deliver concrete to the tunnel for the final lining of the tunnel. Currently the contractor is removing some of the aggregate surfacing that was placed to facilitate concrete deliveries. A crane is being moved to the site. The contractor plans to begin construction of the channel and dropshaft that connect the previously installed sewer line to the tunnel in the second week of November.
- Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel – The contractor has completed installing the fiberglass sewer pipe in the adit tunnel located near Manchester and Breckenridge Industrial. A grout batch plant is being set up at the site to produce the cellular grout used to fill the space between the outside of the pipe and the excavated surface of the tunnel. The grout will be installed in November. The contractor has begun installing the sheet pile excavation support systems for the Diversion Structure and Metering Manhole at this site. The sheet pile installation will continue into November, then the contractor will begin excavating within the sheet pile support systems to construct the Diversion Structure and the Metering Manhole.
