Work anticipated in the next three weeks on Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s Project Clear in Brentwood:
- Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel – The contractor will continue construction of the deaeration chamber at the site at the corner of Brazeau and Suburban Tracks. This structure is located underground at the tunnel elevation, but the workers, equipment, and materials used to construct the structure will be lowered into the tunnel from a crane at the surface. Within the next three weeks, the contractor will begin work on installing the pipe and channel that will connect the sewer pipe, previously installed by J.H. Berra during Phase I of the DC-02 & DC-03 Sanitary Relief project, to the tunnel. The first phase of this work will be removing the soil and drilling the rock, so that it requires less effort to break and remove the rock from the excavations.
- Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel – The contractor continues construction of the Diversion Structure within the sheet pile excavation support system previously installed at the site located near Manchester and Breckenridge Industrial. The contractor will complete construction of the deaeration chamber within the previously excavated tunnel shaft at the site. Riser pipes will be installed from the deaeration chamber and the tunnel shaft will be filled outside of the riser pipes.
