The City of Brentwood began its 2021 Asphalt Project on Monday, Aug. 23, along Strassner Drive (Brentwood Blvd. to Urban Drive), Urban Drive (North of Strassner Drive) and Wrenwood Lane (East of Brentwood Blvd. up to Brentwood Forest Entrance).
August 23: At around 5 am, crews will start the milling process of removing the top 2 inches of asphalt from these areas. The early morning start is to give the crews a chance to work prior to the morning traffic rush. The milling process should not take too much time, which will allow drivers to continue to use these roads. In the following days, the crews will be installing the new asphalt using the same schedule to avoid as much traffic delay as possible.
Please be aware that with the newly laid asphalt that the roads must cool down to a temperature of a least 125° F degrees before traffic can drive on them. Residents are encouraged to follow all traffic detours and exercise extreme caution around any road crews. As always, any emergency vehicle will still have total access to these roads and will be allowed to enter the closed off areas if necessary.
The rest of the schedule for this project will be updated regularly.
We apologize for any inconvenience and expect Byrne & Jones Contracting to expedite the process rather quickly. If at any time you have a question, please feel free to contact Kyle Allen, Public Works Supervisor, 314.662.2794.
