Update from MoDOT September 15, 2022:
Black Creek Bridge on Manchester Road (just west of the intersection with Hanley Road) is expected to open to traffic on September 19.
Update from MoDOT September 1, 2022:
A traffic switch on Route 100 (Manchester Road) near Mary Avenue is planned to take place on Tuesday morning, Sept. 6.
Crews have finished about half of the work on the pedestrian tunnel that will go underneath Manchester Road. To work on the other half, crews will be shifting the eastbound and westbound lanes near Mary Avenue from the two lanes on the north side to the freshly paved lanes on the south side of Manchester Road.
This should not significantly impact the flow of traffic through the area. Access to Mary Avenue will remain unchanged. Drivers heading to Dorothy or Ruth Avenue will need to access the roadway from Florence Avenue, as they will not be able to access those streets from Manchester Road during this stage.
Revised completion dates as of August 12, 2022; delays due to flooding in late July/early August:
Black Creek Bridge on Manchester Road (just west of the intersection with Hanley Road) closed on May 2 and will remain fully closed through mid-to-late September 2022.
This full roadway closure will prevent traffic from going west from Hanley Road to Manchester Road. The closure also will prevent traffic from going east on Manchester Road to Hanley Road.
Throughout the closure, vehicles will still be able to access businesses and residences along the Manchester Road corridor from Brentwood Boulevard.
During the same time, work will take place on the pedestrian tunnel near Mary Avenue. This work will reduce Manchester Road traffic to one lane in each travel direction, beginning May 3 and continuing until October 31, 2022.
On July 5, crews closed the eastbound lanes of Manchester Road, between Hanley and Laclede Station Road. This will allow the Metropolitan Sewer District to complete sewer system updates in the area. Drivers can use Hanley Road, West Bruno Avenue and Laclede Station Road as a detour around the closure. Work on eastbound Manchester Road between Hanley and Laclede Station Road is expected to take about two months.
