The demolition of the old Breckenridge Industrial Court bridge on Thursday, March 2, released polystyrene from the interior of the bridge. The contractor began the cleanup process following the demolition, and this cleanup is ongoing.
As part of the cleanup process, the contractor has removed polystyrene debris from Deer Creek and the River Des Peres. The contractor has installed a skimmer downstream to catch any additional floating debris.
The City of Brentwood remains in regular contact with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to ensure this cleanup effort complies with their requirements and expectations.
